Realistically, there is not much that can be cut. And the deficit will be close to a half trillion next year.

There is a lot that can be cut. If by "realisitcaly" you mean it would be hard politically to push the cuts, then that is true, but it would also be hard to increase taxes.

As for cutting a half of a trillion from the deficit in one year that would be stupid, it would create more problems then benefits.

There is no money for the butter.......all non military expenditures have been cut while defense is growing.

If you actually believe that then you are ignorant about government spending. Non defense government spending has increase more then defense spending in dollar terms. In other words we are buying more and more butter (and pork) each year. I hoped Bush would slow this down but he has not. If you want to attack Bush as a spendthrift, be my guest but the statement "all non military expenditures have been cut" is simply false.

Lately? It hasn't grown in the last year.

Yes it has. And the one before that, and the one before that...

It not likely to get smaller but tax cuts also aren't likely. So does that make Cramer and you both ridiculous because you both talk about them?

Cramer is talking about a tax increase. The only reference he made to tax cuts was to say they are part of the current problem. He's not complaining or whining about them.

Sorry editing mistake. Change the statement to "It not likely to get smaller but tax increases also aren't likely. So does that make Cramer and you both ridiculous because you both talk about them?"
