Why is this a big deal? He had a contract. Maybe he was overpaid, but why should he be forced out of his position because of it?

In the America of 2003, many people seem to have a difficult time understanding that a contract means something, and is binding on the parties.

That said, I'm purely amazed that any one man (or woman) is worth that kind of compensation.
