lorne, you have posted extensively denigrating the Islam faith. That is clear indication to me that it is the religion who teaches violence etc. I don't remember you ever saying that they kill not because of the Islamic faith. There is a big difference between Saddam and Arafat. Saddam gassed his people, established dynastic rule, surrounded himself with people from Tikrit and promoted regionalism in addition to dynastic rule. Yes, Saddam is no favorite of mine but I do not support the Iraqi war in the name of fighting terrorism. Which one of these has Arafat done. Arafat may be going senile, but he has the love and popular support and respect of the Palestenians. Did Saddam have that same reverence from his folks? Even Abu Mazen respects Arafat even though he has differences of opinion with him.
