Iso,

1. I no longer have the faith in EW that I once did (or maybe just not the faith in myself as an EW practitioner) and so leave that tool for others.

2. In the imperfectly cyclical nature of things, what starts early (mid-July rather than August) often ends early and we're approaching the end of a seasonally strong period for precious metals.

3. I haven't been looking at volume of individual stocks in analyzing the sector, but it makes sense. I see that GG, RGLD, and GLG show double volume days at/near their highs. It's interesting that NEM does not, but it is pretty stodgy for a gold stock. <g>
