Hans Blix story doesn't wash whatever.
Why would you destroy them, when concealing them is rather easy? It's like taking a coat along in the car. You may not need it, but you like the easy option, instead of driving all the way back home once you decide you need that coat.
Also Blix's "Beware of the Dog" analogy doesn't make any sense. They were telling everyone "We don't have any." So where is the deterrence if you truly destroyed them? How about a sign "Dog Gone. Dog Destroyed" What is the logic behind the pronouncements?
Who would invade? Turkey? Saudi? Iran? They don't NEED to be deterred. They couldn't hold the country... why would they invade? We already were in place with a "no fly zone" and plenty of cruise missiles since 1991. Who would they use gas on, if we unleashed cruise missiles? Themselves?
Every single sign points to the fact that they are concealed. Why kick out weapons inspectors? Why put up with years of sanctions? I mean LONG YEARS, deferring BILLIONS in Oil revenue! For what??!!
If there was any destruction, you could find five people who were there, no question. Why have not five people come forward, and given corroborating stories? Even two! Even one! person who says, "I was there, and we destroyed VX Nerve Gas at (x) location, on (y) date, and we did it by means of (z)."
Instead, we have witnesses to bioweapons accidents that killed real people. In 1998!
Where the weapons are stored died with the Saddam brothers/sons. It may take two three years. But accidentally, eventually, they will show up. By then, it will get less headlines than "J Lo". |
