Dear rrufff, c.c. Bux,
-
Unlike most that view long posts like yours, I do read them
word for word, and unlike most that do read them from start
to finish, i treat each word and its placement as i would if they
were mathematical symbols to model a physical event.
-
Sometimes reality throws us a curve ball, and up become down,
or we have a middle without any ends..
-
Imagine Silicon Investor as a company with customers,
and rather than the Wal-Mart image where its more of a line
that transfers manufactured product from China into the store
into your hands that leaves cash at the register as you leave
the store and use that purchase elsewhere.
-
For sure customer satisfaction is a loop that determines
your continued shopping there, but lets introducd another
type of business where the product they sell to customers
has a feedback that actually puts back into the store a vesion
of the product the customer bought, and this is resold to other
customers as a value added element. This way the store is more
like a circle where the customer is linked into the stores ability
to supply a product. This example is Silicon Investor where posts
written by members become part of the product Silicon Investors
then sells to other customers.
-
That phrase
"garbage in, garbage out"
needs to be updated for Silicon Investor, as.
"garbage out, garbage back in, for more garbage out"
-
BobZ is the top most linkage of a chain built like a circle,
"Silicon Investor Circle"
where customers travel his functionality pathways to create posts
that become in themselves a product Silicon Investor sells.
-
BobZ - Si's linkage as described by Sheriff Matt:
"Wise, Wide, Short, and Harry that make good Music"
:o)
Ripley's Believe It or Not!® ripleys.com
GotMilk Style,
Both rrufff and Bux are asking BobZ to do the same thing.
Both need BobZ to encorporate into the TOU the same language
such that each can accomplish an agenda 180 degrees apart.
-
rrufff wants Si to be personal attacks free, and Bux needs
the same wording in the TOU to continue his attacks on iHub
that do not the purpose to destroy iHub, but is a side effect
Bux is willing to let happen to accomplish his agenda that takes
the form of Short'n Ducks in the Duck Test :o)
-
BobZ is asked to do the same thing, but rrufff is pushing onto
the Si circle in the same rotation direction as BobZ is pushing,
and Bux is pushing for the same thing, but in counter "good" wise.
-
Conclusion: If BobZ satisfies your very good intentions request,
Bob will sadly inable Bux's bad intentions request, and extra sadly
the bad here will infect the good for a final bad ending to Si.
-
But change is in the wind of BobZ's just recent post reply to another
that suggested a method to "turn off" certain posts such that
they will not travel the thread for those willing to accept
the decision of a thread moderator as equal to their opinion
that would decide to filter or ignore another's post material.
-
Best to ask rrufff if this would solve his problem with Sir Vinny,
as i'am willing to speculate that it will not. A Si site wide survey
might be a good thing to ask members if they are willing to allow
another person to filter out personal attacks and off topics as determined
not by them, but a thread moderator. I'am guessing personal attacks
will be accepted, but off topics will not.
