the young Japanese pilots were heavy into "the Code of Warrior Values", "Bushido"....the bible for the good "Samurai Warrior" it was a "Mind set" if you will, an Honor to be remembered by your fellow Samurai Warriors as a measure of your personal dedication..........and the promise of a better life thru reincarnation. Despair had nothing to do with it.....just the opposite in fact. Again "Cause and effect" regards
