Nonsense, there's no rewriting of anything here unless it's Brinker and his minions.

Brinker said over and over again that he would "sidestep" a bear if he saw it coming and might even go with the Rydex short funds. He argued repeatedly with LTBHers about this point as they said why not just stay put through a bear?

He NEVER EVER SIDESTEPPED the bear as he never got out of the market, EVER. The only rational conclusion one can make is that his model NEVER EVER SAW the bear. It saw a loss of momentum in the bull, an increased risk/lower returns in the bull, etc.

Why this never translated into a full blown bear in his model is really odd. What other explanation do you have?
