GST, this is willful ignorance. The Palestinian bombers, MANY of whom are younger than our soldiers, still being kids, are going for glory.

Suicide bombers are glorious in the territories. Their posters line schoolroom walls. Shops sell stickers and keychains with their faces on them. When they die, papers publish the details of the "wedding" (to the 72 virgins) and the whole neighborhood congradulates the proud parents, who collect glory from all over, and money from Hamas and the PA and Saddam....oops, scratch the last.

I read a story from 2001 in the Chicago Tribune about a Palestinian woman who had lived in America for a long time, but went home to the West Bank in the Oslo years to set up a business. She stayed until the day her eight-year old son came home from school and said, "Mom, when I grow up I want to become a shahid" (martyr). Then she said, "That's it! we're going back to America". I don't blame her a bit.
