I am not suggesting there is anything "normal" about the situation with Palestinians living under Israeli occupation. I am only saying that there is an aspect of this which is rational when it is understood that people who see no future for themselves or their families will resort to suicide bombing. Are they being encouraged -- of course. But don't overlook the role that having no normal future plays in this -- and don't forget that the Israelis have shown no special talent for working this situation towards a successful and peaceful conclusion.
