Bosworth, widely recognized in the industry for his visionary prowess in application development, is responsible for driving the strategic and technical direction for the BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform(TM), and has been instrumental in using extensible mark-up language (XML) to reduce the complexity of Java-based development tools. Since joining the company in 2001, he has helped fuel the development of BEA WebLogic Workshop(TM), a leading integrated development environment that is designed to allow developers at every level -- not just J2EE experts -- to build service- oriented, enterprise-class applications and Web services. Bosworth was also responsible for defining the next generation of BEA WebLogic Integration(TM) and BEA WebLogic Portal(TM).

Known as one of the pioneers and key figures in the evolution of XML, Bosworth co-founded Crossgain, a software development firm acquired by BEA in 2001. Prior to Crossgain, he held various senior management positions at Microsoft, including general manager of the WebData group, a team focused on defining and driving XML strategy. While at Microsoft, he was responsible for designing and delivering the Microsoft Access PC Database product and assembling and driving the team that developed the HTML engine for Internet Explorer 4.0.
