I understand why you might be spooked. I'd bet, though, that you're not at much risk in the open from a lone bear. Now if he turned out to be a she and she brought junior along, that's another matter. Otherwise, I would think you could safely walk in the moonlight. As long as you whistle of stomp your feet while you walk, that is. Still, better safe than all of us being sorry.
