Pransomhince, Perhaps I can answer some of your questions.

I live near the Radix Marine corporate office and I have actually visitd Kathy Bright, the CEO, and talked about the company and its business plan.

YES, they do have a contract with the US Navy for $22MIL. I have held it in my hands. The contract is to develop the "concept" for the RPV boats. They are billing against the contract and that should continue for about 2 years. So that is about $10MIL revenue per year.

They are also merging with (acquiring) a company called Radix Ortega that has an ongoing contract to do environmental work for PSNS (Puget Sound Navel Shipyard).

The company would like to start building a prototype to test out some of the concepts, but that is outside of the scope of the current contract. So they are going to have to develop a source of outside funding. The most recent PR describes a new relationship with a local boat builder. So it looks like Radix Marine is moving toward building boats.

From a purely technical standpoint, what Radix Marine is designing (and hopes to build) is very Kool. I have seen the "artist renderings" of the boats - very stealthy looking. Please keep in mind they don't carry people so they don't have to have certain amenities. And they certainly don't have to look like any boat you have ever seen.

Kathy pointed out to me that the closest example to what Radix Marine is doing is the Preditor/Global Hawk RPV aircaft used by the US Airforce. That program has been in existence or about 5 years and over $10 Billion have been spent. The Navy is just starting out with their RPV project and Radix Marine has THE contract.

There is a lot more to this story. Since you are a newbie it might be worth your time to go read EVERY post on this RB forum from the beginning. There aren't that many so far so it won't take long. Also, be sure to visit the Web sites.

Good Luck.
