John;
I worked with highly sensitive crystal growers from 1970-1989. Certain versions of these were proscribed under the COCOM rules which governed the sale of high tech equipment, processes, and know how to eastern block countries. I needed to know what was proscribed in order to write the export applications. The availability of systems and electronics is a basic requirement for the development of WMDs and their delivery systems. The US companies named in the report I sent to you were acting against a boycott that was in place long before the Kuwait war. It's splitting hairs to claim that the WMDs were not provided by, among others, the US. US and other western companies provided(illegally) the some of the means to achieve these WMDs.
