With the advent of nearly Autonomous manufacturing equipment that only requires loading, unloading, and preventive maintenance (cleaning, lubing, etc.) most manufacturing can be exported to countries with lower education levels than the developed countries.

Other manufacturing that still requires repetitious actions such as clothing and shoe manufacture (sweatshop work) but only a low level of education and a few days of training also has been extensively exported to China and South Asian countries.

With the increasing use and complexity of imbedded computer control and the decreasing need for trained and experienced operators manufacturing jobs will continue to be exported.

This problem is exacerbated by increasing productivity due to these same advances in the US.
