Dean supporters would like to remain in August and pretend nothing has changed. In fact, Dean has stumbled off his pedestal completely and disqualified himself. Wes Clark is climbing onto that pedestal now.

Take away the "outsider" vote for Dean and he doesn't have much left. Latest poll showed Gephardt not Dean leading in Iowa and Dean will continue dropping. He may end up with less than 10%.

Kerry has cut Dean's Auguist lead in NH down to single digits and will gradually draw even then ahead. Polls show Dean's support is soft in NH, but Kerry's is solid. The real question is, can Clark beat Kerry in NH? I'm not that worried since I like both of them.

Dean will lose the most by far from the Clark candidacy in general. Clark also makes Dean look like a wimp and so a higher standard of military experience will be created for any candidate. Since Dean is a peacenik, he's out. But Kerry is still solidly in.

Enjoy those August polls while they're still fairly fresh. They'll be yesterday's news within a few weeks. Also, face it, Dean is a terrible candidate to run against Bush, almost as bad as Hillary Clinton. So why back him? As a protest? Against what? And how many times has Dean lied this month, switched positions, made gaffes. What confidence does he inspire anymore? He had a nice strong start but he's finished. You just don't see it yet. "Hamas are soldiers" alone destroyed him. In other words, he did it to himself.
