K&S announces opening of China production plant By Silicon Strategies 09/19/2003 11:30 AM EST URL: siliconstrategies.com WILLOW GROVE, Penn. -- Chip-assembly equipment maker Kulicke & Soffa Industries Inc. this week announced the grand opening of its new 13,500-square-meter facility in the Suzhou-Singapore Industrial Park, near Shanghai, China. Operating as Kulicke & Soffa Suzhou Ltd, the facility will produce bonding tools, dicing blades, and test interconnect products. Over 50 percent of K&S' total capillary production will be manufactured at this facility. K&S plans to eventually expand its sales, market, service and application capability in China to support products shipped into the country. Rather than provide support from remote locations, K&S personnel will be located in key areas to quickly and efficiently service China customers.
