He thought he was tougher than the storm. That it would be fun to ride in a real storm. I knew guys like that when I was canoeing in the DC area thirty plus years ago. In the north woods people know better, they respect nature. But the city boys think it's a blast to go where the big water is, run rivers at their peak flows for the fun of it. I've seem some asinine things done in kayaks and canoes up in West Virginia and on the Shenendoah and Potomac.
