Dean's position on the war is he's against it, no matter what, same as Kucinich. But since he didn't have to make a tough choice and vote, didn't have to support Bush's alrady underway build-up of troops sitting in Kuwait nor the UN inspectors or negotiations, it doesn't mean much. It's just Monday morning quarterbacking. It's also a posoition which goes against that of the 20% of swing-voters in the middle whom you HAVE to have on your side to beat Bush.

Wes Clark's position is his own, not Dean's, and much more complex since he's a war expert. The two are completely dissimilar. They are real opposites. That's why Dean was desperate to get Clark to join him, to balance out the imaginary ticket in his mind. But it's never going to happen. Not even close. Beating Bush is the key now, not making some liberal statement.
