In one night of furious fighting, 18 American soldiers were killed and dozens wounded. Horror at TV images of a mutilated American soldier being dragged through the streets of Mogadishu put an immediate halt to that American mission. Black Hawk Down won't be a sweeping epic like Pearl Harbor. But its images are the ones that haunt American generals when they contemplate war these days.

I was always told that we learn from our mistakes. I hope it's true.......this doesn't ever need happen again.
