China cracks down on graft in real estate
It will target city planners and developers who force people to move without compensating them

BEIJING - Corruption is a serious problem in China's real estate market with issues such as people being forced to move to make way for new developments fuelling social discontent, a senior government official has admitted.

'At present, there is indeed a great deal of corruption in real estate development, especially in the relocation of people and in city planning,' said Construction Vice-Minister Liu Zhifeng at a press conference on Thursday.
