brent, According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, a source greatly respected, the Earth is know to have an age of 4.6 x 10 to the 9th power. You can do the math from there. Not only is the age significant, there is constant movement of the surface of the planet caused by the motion of the liquid outer core. The shifting of the tectonic plates, and the continents, provides a positive link to the existence of the single continent known as Pangea, in the distant past. The surface of the planet is in constant motion which has been studied, and documented. Ergo, this planet was not completed in 6 days, of any length, and is still being created, and changed.
As for the timing of the creation of the Earth, no one knows the rate of the orbiting of the planet around the sun millions of years ago, and do not know how fast the planet spun on it's axis in those times. There has been, obvious, changes in the planet, and the are still happening. This planet, as any other, is the product of geological progression, and is no mystery to those that think with an open mind. |
