Ray and Mike,

Yep, the ignore settings on SI are great. There are a combination of three options available.

Ignore public posts by an individual.

Ignore private posts by an individual.

Ignore responses to posts by an individual.

I've found that when certain individuals establish themselves as meeting certain criteria, checking all three produces the best results. I may miss a few quality posts by people whose stuff I make a habit of reading, but not nearly as often as one might think.

Like the saying goes, "If you argue with a fool, what does that make you?". There are a few people around who are good enough at playing off the fools to make a point without getting drawn into a spitting contest, but they're the rare exception to the rule. Most of the time the exchanges digress to the level of the ignored posts.

Recent comments by Tom Delay in response to Kennedy accusing Bush of fraud reminded me a lot of the fools on my ignore list. Watching a traitor like Delay respond with a, "Did not! Na nah na na nah!" type comment was actually kind of funny coming from someone who probably doesn't want voters to put him on ignore.
