Clinton just wants to make sure the ticket is moderate, strong on defense and has a southern feel to it. But yes, his support of Clark has already propelled him into the spotlight.

What Clinton does not want is Dean nominated. In fact I don't think a single party power wants Dean anywhere near the nomination. He has zero endorsements. Over time, this will hurt Dean a lot and block him from frontrunning again.
