Similarly, the Zionist covenant declared their intention to take the West Bank and Gaza. They have not renounced that, and in fact a significant portion of the Israeli political leadership still endorses that.

Of course, Hamas was formed AFTER almost a century of Israeli atrocities perpetrated directly on the Palestinian people. Before that time, Muslims, Jews and Christians lived quite peacefully together in Palestine.

Hamas is willing to compromise, of course.
