One h*ll of a factoid: three founding fathers (Ben Franklin, Tom Jefferson and George Washington I think) were honorary citizens of France, under Louis XVI at that. How far can friends drift apart with time (sigh).

Re "France and the United States are at war" - *gasp* can US handle to fight on so many fronts!? I would assume the best would be a this moment just to storm the East River nest of baboons and BS-grinders. Or schlepp the whole D*n building to Gitmo...

re >>Germany cannot be that far away on the enemies list line up.<<

You mean "Germans to the front"? "Oh no, not tonight, Josephine cherie", as Napoleon said on the eve of Austerlitz battle. Right now Germany is stretched somewhere in the middle of the channel, trying to drag UK closer(**), without Chirac noticing it.

Next week will sure be a lot of fun, internationally speaking.

btw, here's one more call to persevere ("Lincoln had it tough too"):

I guess there's absolutely no problem US army could not solve. Or get into... But Im going OT.

Am going now to push some iron as penitence for my sins the last 24 hrs (does not amount to much though, so maybe I'll just sweat to stock up *).

btw, CB is off cable so even if she's reading fast, she may be slow answering.

PS: I guess this is important...

Important (News in brief)

>>Revised Patriot Act Will Make It Illegal To Read Patriot Act
WASHINGTON, DC—President Bush spoke out Monday in support of a revised version of the 2001 USA Patriot Act that would make it illegal to read the USA Patriot Act. "Under current federal law, there are unreasonable obstacles to investigating and prosecuting acts of terrorism, including the public's access to information about how the federal police will investigate and prosecute acts of terrorism," Bush said at a press conference Monday. "For the sake of the American people, I call on Congress to pass this important law prohibiting access to itself." Bush also proposed extending the rights of states to impose the death penalty "in the wake of Sept. 11 and stuff."<<

*[EDIT]: taking this weekend's Doug Noland with me to induce increased sweating...

**[EDIT] meant as "...drag itself or Europe closer to UK..."
