This is a web-based monthly newsletter covering different subjects. They seem to enjoy to go to conferences and to report back from those. There is for example an interesting report from Association of Professional Sleep Societies (APSS), where the reporter goes to some length to discuss the perceived pros and cons with the three drugs, which will "soon" be up for review (ESTORRA, Indiplon and dark (?) horse TAK-375).

In addition to the monthly pieces there are also shorter articles (Quick Pulses), which deal with specific subjects. The latest appears to be the result of a one-on-one meeting with a FDA official and centers around FDA's mode of operation (as seen from the horizon of Rockville, MD).

What to Expect with FDA PDUFA Timelines and Complete Response Letters

One of the take-home messages seems to be that the confusion will increase with the Complete Response Letters as the distinction between Approvable and Non-Approvable will disappear. More room for company spin with other words.

I found the material in a couple of the newsletters I have reviewed (i.e. glanced through) to be interesting and not necessarily cast in the same mold as a lot of the biotech commentary that is available via the net.

How the venture is financed is something of a mystery. There is no extra-plus subscription service, they don't accept advertisements and claim to be independent from the industry. Perhaps they do it because they like it, but there might be a dog buried somewhere. Even if it is difficult to spot the exact place.
