WIth all this copy protection over digital networks, can someone tape (or record with DVD-RAM) television programs? Are the days of time-shifting (recording programs to watch them later) over? Do I have to stay home on Thursday nights? Or do we think that regular programming will not be copy protected? Does Macrovision installed on a settop box work with non-protected programming? <<System operators and program suppliers use this proprietary know-how to prevent popular movies and other programming from being widely copied.>>
