Tore Tori Tory... Dear Jaded.. My biggest stink against the Tories is the "Drive Clean" BS. Proven by many to be a big waste of time since "companies" themselves are the biggest culprit to air quality issues - not cars. And the goals for cars getting cleaner should be moving them to alternative fuels - since the US will not lower the caffe standards [sp?.. sorry ... the ones that say cars must drive "XYZ MPG"). I think the biggest smog producer is all the buses in TO anyways. (Personally, my conspiracy theory; puts the Car Makers in bed with the Tories -- they said "give us a way that will help people buy NEW cars.. or we will pull all production from Ontario." So how much do people want to spend to fix a 10yr old car to keep it on the road?.. ) But has any party stepped up to the plate to slash this program? Not that I know of. Well there we are - always the same problem - the same party in TOO LONG to reek havoc and then (not always so hopeful) they end up trying to reverse when things get really bad so they get re-elected.. I do not disagree with most of your cuts issues - and I don't see "lowering taxes" and "mortgage interest refunds" (neither of which will probably not help me much) are the ways to go either. Demonstrates how people are SOOOOOOO stupid (not the fact of who they vote for; but the fact they think everything is either (A) Free or (B) s/b paid by someone else). Dolt is saying "I won't cut.. but I won't raise either". How does that song go? Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb - DUMMY DUMMY DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB -- DUMMY DUMMY DUMB.. OOOOOH WAAAAAAHHHH.. He should realistically say "I won't cut; but depending on how bad the province finances really look once we are elected, in order to restore the quality of living to what we in Ontario deserve, I may have to raise your taxes." That is the TRUTH - WE KNOW THAT IS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN - SO SAY IT!!!! Let me digress to a smaller world.. mine.. Take the condo phase II across from me - "new exterior lights" were to be installed. For our condo we were told "Buy model X at Y and install - or ask for help". It cost us like $30/light -- I installed two no problem. Except 10% didn't do it - now the board thinks next time the lights should be changed by the management company --- which is where I differ - the plan s/b "Do it yourself within 60d or we will have the mgmt do it for $100/lite and add to your fees". Anyahoo, speaking with a Condo II owner (AKA - She will vote for who cuts taxes I am sure); "yeah we had new lights installed - great huh.. and they are free". What a STUPID FCKING AX-KLE! Yet another who can't see the forest through the trees* My neighbor up the street complains how "Phase II has all this stuff done and we pay so much and get nothing". [They had their driveway sealed; but we got it resealed shortly after our discussion too]. So she told me what someone with my size home would pay in fees. SAME THING. Except one must appreciate that Phase II started paying fees about 3 years AFTER US - and started with the SAME fees as us. READ - MASSIVE INCREASES that were far above ours. READ - POOR STATE OF AFFAIRS. Anyahoo - are we there yet Jaded? Lets see - we live where we cannot vote for a leader; only a party rep. Hmmm.. and I think the Liberal Leader is the BIGGEST L0ZER since Stockwell Day. I don't know how things are going to turn out. But I must have faith in the leader - and since I don't have faith in the LEADER I don't have faith in the party. Alternatives - true - not many. Didn't the Leader try to leave Springfield with the town's money and ended up on the hill billy's front porch.. <chuckle> Merci Jaded. <font size=5>Dr. <font color=blue>S</font><font color=gold>o</font><font color=Blue>B</font> <font size=3>
