I think people in the military have a right to be upset with their Secretary of Defense who repeatedly goes against the advice and experience of his top generals. I don't think that reflects on Bush very much. Usually in a subsequent term you see a lot of replacements in the cabinet. ONe of our worst Secretaries of Defense ever was the Whiz Kid John McNamara who was personally selecting bombing targets with the lowest priority and working up the list. Rumsfeld is a McNamara clone and was mentored by McNamara. I'm hoping Rumsefeld and maybe even Paul Wolfowitz are replaced for the next term.
