But for a few days you were able to experience empathy for people who don't have the privilege of living in places where there ARE swimming pools. I would bet that some of our soldiers in Iraq haven't had a chance to swim in a clean pool for months.

Not that you should feel guilty about your privileges, not what I'm suggesting. But sometimes it takes having something taken away briefly for us to appreciate how fortunate we are to have it most of the time.
