It seems like some interesting things are being discussed here.

Here's a piece on a subject that was probably discussed here in my absence.

nbc4.tv

Here's an accompanying questionnaire that I think presents the dilemma as concisely as it could be presented:

SURVEY
Should a California high school student be allowed to start a Caucasian Club?

Yes, if there are other clubs like the Black Student Union and Asian Club she should be allowed to.

No. There should be no clubs targeting any ethnic group.

No. Only minorities should be able to have clubs targeting an ethnic group.

Excuse me for the repetition if this subject has already been exhausted. I'm curious as to what the consensus is. No, actually, I'd be interested in the detail of the arguments for each position. Well, for position two and three, mainly.

The article doesn't say whether members of other races are welcome in the black and Asian clubs, as it says all races would be welcome in the caucasian club. So I'm assuming the answer is yes. (Of course being invited and being comfortable accepting an "invitation" are two different things, but that's the same on both side of the equasion, presumably....)
