You remain the rational one Russ.

But in this market does being rational make sense ? <GGG>

And your reasoning remains sound as usual. What I am having trouble with is a clear signal that gold (and perhaps base metals ) are over bought .

We have discussed this before and I see little that has changed that would indicate a need to review the points.

I am having trouble comming to terms with the fact that my PF portfolio is trading at an all time high and that many of the stocks in the PF have not topped out.

The other problem is that very often good stocks do not trade in a pattern that makes no longer much sense to me. Lets take CBD for a example. CBD will not have news for about 6 to 8 months. IMO the stock should fall off the radar screen and the price will take a dip. After this point I believe it is a no brainer to break its latest highs. So do I sell ? Or just sit and wait till next summer ?

Because the number of times I have sold a good stock , and watched it continue to climb against everthing that makes good sense is to numerous to mention.

If traders are pulling out of overpriced stock where do they park their money ? I own AQI. I will exit the stock on a candle stick. Even though I think CBD will have a pullback if I was looking for a place to park my cash cBD would be one of them. Is this the kind of thinking that causes some stocks to stay stable while others swing with the seasons and news?

ME ? I do not have a clue . But the one thing I am not doing is fighting the trend. I am also sticking with some of my long term companies that I buy into and out of for no other reason that I have been married to them long enough that they provide sweat free income.

Examples ? CPT (this little non resource company has been talked about before ) I have been in this one for years quietly trading in and out. I still have my core but not my traders. Darn thing moved more than I thought.

Along with talking about companies with good cash and good people this thread should have a list of stocks that one should never buy . IWA comes to mind. A look at the insider trades and the names behind them also indicate what to expect from any company with James Callahan (sp ?) on board.

CBR- here is another stock that should drift off until Nov or with any pullback in the market. But it has enough meat to it to be around long term.

And here is one that may be worth 20 bucks or zip. TIC. The idea behind it is pure genious. But is it viable? Are the people any good ? Would the market notice ?

Totaly disjointed thoughts as usual.

So my take is no one strategy will work. Trying to apply the right strategy to the right stock is the trick. The overall trend dictates your attitude.
