Jay, I can not understand why you are so strongly against minimum wage. As a civilized world we should take care of those that are weak or can not compete, because they were born this way.

Nature does not stamp each human born into this world with an IQ of 120 or a drive for achievement or an inherent bend to steal and swindle an not get in trouble.

After all that what differentiate human from animal - compassion.

There is a big difference between pur capitalism and socialism, supporting the weak will only advance us better.

I respectfully disagree with your take that a total free capitalism society should rule the same way that I think that Europe went a bit to much toward socialism.

I am for a balanced society with the proper consideration for all it's citizen. I do not agree with your approach of capitalism. IMHO it is a crude way of survival of those that know the ropes of society and know how to abuse this society and not necessary the talented and gifted that brought us to were we are in our civilization.

To bring some example Einstein was no financial genius and if not for financial support for his "irrelevant science" at the time, we would be without nuclear power plants today.

On the same token based on your scenario Enron would continue to abuse our population as would be Tyco or Worldcom management.

We are still stuck with a sub-par operating system because some guy in Seattle has more talent in squashing competitors or buy their creativity for peanuts than writing creative software.

In a nutshell I do not like the society you think / envision will bring prosperity to ALL humans - true democracy and capitalism will not succeed because humans are so diverse and to many times those with qualities that enable them to exploit others hold the money and power to promote their false concept of society.

Rest my case
