Newsflash everyone: Apple wasn't in a strong postion to extract concessions out of Microsoft!!! Their deal was better than nothing, and a miracle considering the situation Apple is in. While $150 million isn't a lot to Microsoft, it is a lot to Apple! That's more than Apple's projected profit for 1998. Microsoft could have easily gotten away with doing everything that they did minus the $150 million. I'll take that extra dollar of equity my shares now have thank you very much!
