"But for now, I think that it is fine to perpetuate a distinction that continues to put family on a higher plane.........."

The approval for families does not depend on the recognition of the rights of homosexuals to freedom of religion and their right to vow their love before their God in a solemn social ritual of marriage. How can I help you to understand this? I will try it this way: The recognition of divorce does not detract from the value society has for marriage. The one does not swing the tail of the other.

The benefits of your family are not vitiated by the happiness of some homosexual couple in Edmonton or Kansas.

"it is true that some homosexual unions will employ modern technology to be fruitful"

I have no ides what this is supposed to mean. Has there been low sperm counts associated with modern living in the homosexual community? Malfunctioning ovaries? I would not be surprised with all the environmental hazards floating around, but one presumes that environmental toxins would not discriminate as to sexual orientation or gender. Nature is pretty fair-minded when it comes down to it. Homosexuals have always reproduced, although traditionally it has been in traditional families.

As far as I know there is no more infertility in homosexuals than in others, although admittedly I have no firm basis for denying the possibility.
