I have a lot of concern that too much faith is being placed in the "productivity gains" as the government is measuring them. First I don't trust bureaucrats to be especially diligent about their work and second I don't know that they are getting the measurement right. Finally, I know from experience that the source data is shaky - the sources are forced to produce it but they do not get paid to do so.
