Additional sophistication would quantify and subtract the decrease in the value of the ecosytem. How can anything enter or leave the ecosystem? Silicon leaves sand and becomes part of a computer chip. Copper is mined and becomes part of the chip. It's still part of the ecosystem and may retain scrap value if you wish to convert it back. Where are you going with this ECOnomics emphasis?
