Ho Hum,
For those of you who are still out there ...
MANSFIELD DEFINES 1,000,000+ OUNCE GOLD RESOURCE The company has provided the results of an independent resource estimate on its 100-per-cent-owned Lindero gold porphyry deposit located in Salta province, northwestern Argentina. The estimate was audited by Roscoe Postle Associates Inc., an international company of consulting mining and geological engineers and was based upon drilling, assay data and block models generated by Rio Tinto Mining and Exploration Ltd. (a previous optionee of the property). The sample database comprises assays from surface trenches as well as 10 HQ diamond drill holes totalling 3,905 metres.
In RPA's opinion, a preliminary cutoff grade for a deposit of this type, located in a remote region of Argentina and mined via open pit, would be 0.6 gram/tonne gold. After application of this cutoff grade to the Rio Tinto block model, the inferred mineral resource estimate is as summarized below.
RPA RESOURCE ESTIMATE 0.6 gram/tonne gold cutoff, all inferred
Zone Tonnes Gold Gold (g/t) (ounces)
MVZ 20,604,000 1.15 758,500 PVZ 4,126,000 1.23 163,200 Di P2 5,223,000 0.68 114,200
Total 29,953,000 1.08 1,035,900
The above zones occupy a zone 600 metres long by 200 metres wide along the southeast flank of a prominent hill. The qualified persons commissioned by RPA were Dr. W.A.H. Fuchter, PhD, of Buenos Aires, who conducted the site visit and reviewed the sampling and geology, and David W. Rennie, PEng, who reviewed the resource models. The company is very encouraged by this independent confirmation of a gold resource of this size and grade. Further exploration has potential to expand the known resource as several surface manifestations of gold mineralization remain to be evaluated by drilling. The company is examining its options going forward with the goal of adding value to the Lindero gold deposit and in turn maximizing shareholder return. |
