Yes, that's a good place to speculate when the gold price is running but one has to remember to get out at the first sniff that the uptrend has changed. I don't have the balls for that kind of game which, in fact, is no different from the tech stocks in the US, during the recent bubble. Many traded at $100+ and now they no longer exist --- and not because they were bought up.
