How are we a threat to France?

I said nothing about a threat to France.

There are many people in the world who believe that the single greatest task facing the human race is the development of an effective multilateral body for dispute resolution.

There are many people who believe that the United States is determined to place its own desires, interests, and whims above any such body, and to use force to impose its will on those who disagree.

There are many people who believe that the US ought to be trying to help fix the UN, not give it up simply because it failed to submit to American dictation.

There are many who see America's attitude toward the rest of the world as the single greatest threat to peace.

Not all of these people are in France, though the French have tried to stake out a position as the leader of those who believe these things.

All of these beliefs are debatable, but none of them should be dismissed. Sometimes the other guys have points that need to be considered. This is most likely to be true in cases where we would really rather not consider those points.
