You make such a big deal about such little actions, presumably because the US was involved. The fact is that the action you're talking about preceded the complete fall of the German empire only a few months later. There were many more important battles in that war.

Hmm... So if the Battle of the Bulge was NOT a "big deal" for US public opinion, then why are you so $*#$%*(@# concerned about Iraq, a war in which less than 300 soldiers have died, with another 800 or so wounded in the past 6 months??

There were 19,000 US troops killed (40,000 wounded) during the BofB... 19,000 soldiers killed in the space of 30 days, or about 633 killed EACH DAY.

And the Germans lost about the same number of KIA/WIA.. (30,000 KIA, 40,000 WIA)...

Hell, we have an average of 3 murders per day in the US... And deaths of police officers have risen 10% in the first half of the year alone.. to 77...

So every year 140 or so police officers are killed in the line of duty throughout the US...

I guess they live in a quagmire too...
