I certainly hope so, especially since democracy and free market capitalism have been so institutionalized in the country. Some disturbing things I've read is German textbooks have watered down the nations barbaric past, and the Nazi youth gangs are gaining in popularity. A nation which is unable to honestly deal with its history, is a nation still struggling internally for its identity. It bears remembering, a little over ten years ago, Germany had a wall enclosing one part of their country from the other, a wall in which people were shot and killed on sight for attempting to climb. Do you think Germany will ever pay back America for all the military aid we rendered her, in order to keep east and west from killing eachother?
