My point is that the quantity and vehemence of these attacks, along with their thin threads of logic, prove a single point: the neocon right wing media, and possibly the entire Republican leadership, now regards Clark as the main threat.

Contrast that with their previous comments: that Dean would make a fine opponent. Of course, just like everyone would like to play the Detroit Tigers right about now.

Rove directs a lot of this attack, I believe. He is politically smart, and knows when a real opponent stands up.

We'll see how the American people decide. I think these attacks will have an effect, but they are too early. Slinging political dirt too early in the process, especially on suspect basis, usually backfires and sprays that mud right back on the slinger....
