13 Pakistani students topped in world in 'O' & 'A' level exam (Updated at 2200 PST) KARACHI: As many as 13 students from Pakistan have attained " Top in the World" position in the `O' and `A' level examinations conducted in June last year under the Cambridge system. They were among those who were conferred the award of " High Achievers in 2002" at a ceremony held at the premises of the British Deputy High Commission here on Monday evening. The students were: Danish Munir of Bay View School (Additional Mathematics, Mathematics). Madeeha Channah of St. Joseph's Convent School (Art `O' level). Rubab Shahbaz Khan of Beaconhouse School(`O' level Biology). Mahrukh Kothawala of The City School (Commerce). Hasan Kazi of Foundation Public School (Economics). Maha Sartaj Qasim of The City School (English language). Ayesha Tariq Khan of Karachi Grammar School (English literature). Sabahat Salahuddin of Karachi Grammar School (Mathematics). Saad Rizvi of Beaconhouse School (Mathematics). Nabil Athar Jalil of St. Patrick's High School (Mathematics). Nuasheen Ishtiaq of Karachi Grammar School (`A' level Computing). Dawood Ahmed of Karachi Grammar School (`A' level Accounting). In the June 2002 `O' level examinations, Pakistani students were the top in the world in 13 subjects. It may be recalled that there are only 14 global subjects taken in Pakistan. This means that Pakistan students were top in the world in the 13 out of 14 subjects, it was pointed out. Of the top five positions in each of these 14 subjects, Pakistani students took 64 of the 70 top positions, it was further explained. Roger Sykes, the Deputy Head of Mission of the British Deputy High Commission in Karachi, has termed the achievements of the Pakistani students in these examinations as amazing and outstanding.
