Buying house/apartment is also a matter of timing. I think in the US, plenty of people who bought houses/apartments for the purpose of "flipping" or renting out to make profit in the last 2-3 years all ends up losing money. Because they can neither sell the house to make a little profit, nor can they rent them out at a market price.<g>
