john, technology review has an article on gene repair,
10/03 page 15. talks about al george at vanderbilt university. talks about gene therapy that can repair the damage caused certain disease. [al] "created an enzyme that can excise defective portions of mRNA molecules, and replace them with the correct sequences" is he or is vanderbilt in collaboration with npro?
