OTOH, I am reading an excellent History of Scotland. And in the section on the Highlands, before the "clearings" they talk about watching women do the farming while the men set and watch. Sounds like the Indian Tribes. here.

There is a lot of truth to looking at the Dems and the Repubs as the "Mommy" and "Daddy" parties. The Demographic split is there, and getting larger. On the male side, The left get's the gays and the College Profs, and the right gets the "knuckle draggers." The Military is 80% right, and the Media is 80% left. It's "John Wayne" vs "Alan Alda."
