as far as i know, Marconi is still working closely with BLS in their FTTP deployment. there was, at least in Atlanta, a big stall in deployment. looks like it's about ready to rev up again. the baby bells have no choice if they wish to compete in the future of telecom (IMO). the wireline business is suffering and they need to be able to provide a broad platform of services over a single delivery method or cable is going to eat their shorts.
