..many religious groups who provide health services to poor women in the 3rd world, don't give help with abortions, Well, you shouldn't expect people to act against their own beliefs. About the indigenous cultures issue, any contact with more advanced cultures profoundly changes - and may destroy - them. An inevitability I think. And missionaries haven't always been purely destructive to native cultures. Many times they've helped them adapt and have been a force working for their defence.
